Over the years, with increasing prosperity, the descendants of those early settlers of Little Italy have moved away from the area into the suburbs and beyond. St. Peter's has remained an important focal point for the Italian community in London and many come to celebrate important events in the Church's calendar.
It is, however, in July that attention from beyond the Italian community is most directed towards the church, for on the first Sunday on or after 16^th July, the annual procession in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, takes place.
